J. Patrick Hickey is a partner with Raffaele & Puppio, and is a Pennsylvania Trial Lawyer committed to representing his clients’ and their families. He heads the Litigation Department of the firm, and his litigation practice involves concentrations in Personal Injury Law, Automobile Liability, Construction Accidents, Workers' Compensation, and Criminal Defense.
Mr. Hickey formerly served as clerk to the Honorable Calvin E. Smith and also served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Court of Common Pleas of Berks County, Pennsylvania. Mr. Hickey is also formerly an associate of Jenkins, Wolf, Rubinate, and Hasson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he specialized in insurance defense civil litigation for almost ten years. Mr. Hickey has served as lead counsel in over fifty (50) Jury Trials over the last nineteen (19) years, and consistently strives to achieve the best possible results for his clients. He has also argued numerous times in front of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, as well as the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Mr. Hickey has achieved multi-million dollar recoveries for his clients, and understands the complexities of catastrophic personal injury cases.
Born and raised in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Mr. Hickey graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1984. He attended Boston College and graduated with a degree in Economics in 1988. Thereafter, Mr. Hickey attended Law School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and graduated in 1991 from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law. Mr. Hickey currently serves as an adjunct professor at the Earle Mack School of Law at Drexel University, teaching Interviewing, Counseling, and Negotiation. Mr. Hickey has been an adjunct professor for three years and also participates in the Appellate Moot Court Advocacy Program at Drexel.
Mr. Hickey is admitted to practice Law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, American Bar Association, Delaware County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in the Bar of Pennsylvania in both State and Federal Courts. Mr. Hickey is also is a member of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association.
