Katherine H. Meehan has been associated with the Firm since 2006. Kate’s practice is focused primarily in school and municipal law, but she also has an extensive background in family law and civil litigation, including: personal injury, contract, employment, and discrimination matters. Kate is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
Kate has authored and co-authored many appellate briefs in the Pennsylvania Superior, Commonwealth and Supreme Courts, and has argued before the Pennsylvania Superior Court. For many years Kate co-authored materials concerning Pennsylvania’s Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law for the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association’s annual auto seminar. Kate also clerked for the late Honorable Joseph F. Battle, Jr. from 1997 to 2001.
Born and raised in Connecticut, Kate graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Politics. Kate moved to the Philadelphia area after college and worked as a paralegal in asbestos litigation for the Law Offices of Joseph D. Shein, until she left to attend law school. Kate graduated from Villanova University School of Law. While in law school, Kate worked at the former Delaware County Legal Assistance assisting adult and child clients with Social Security Disability claims.
Kate is an active member of the Media Presbyterian Church where she serves as a Deacon. She is also a member of the Board of the American International Cultural Exchange Institute, a nonprofit organization which promotes positive relations between the United States and China. |
